Repurpose!

While most of our products are created by one of The Organized Horse’s Team of NW crafts people, Sherry and Jim enjoy searching out interesting pieces in need of a new life.  We love repurposing and always have a project in the works.  We can also repurpose pieces that you find.  Prices based on piece and estimated time and materials.

 Here are some examples:

SOLD:  This chair was purchased at a local antique shop.  Originally made in Tacoma , WA , this chair, with its  worn stain finish and dated mauve tweed fabric was transformed by The Organized Horse with a current antiqued black finish and classic Red Hunt Scene.   The chair is being enjoyed by its new Bainbridge Island , WA owner.

CURRENTLY AVAILABLE:  This small bench was a flea market find in Hobart , WA .  With a scratched, stained finish and smelly blue fabric and batting, the bench was sanded, the fabric and batting removed, the wood seat painted, and the overall bench finished in The Organized Horse’s signature antiqued black treatment and a soft cotton hunt scene fabric in muted tones and new, thicker padding for the seat.   Due to the age of the piece, light or decorative use is recommended.

IN PROCESS:  Here are two “before” shots.  The blue chair was left at the Bow Farm purchased by TOH Team member, Christi.  She brought it to Sherry and Jim, who have sanded and repaired the chair.  It is currently getting a Tuscan Red top coat (many, many layers) and will sport a new cushion in a yet-to-be-selected complementary horse fabric.  This chair with be available for sale when completed (estimated late November).  Price to be determined based on time and materials.  The rocker is a client project and is in the process of being transformed.  Look for “after” photos soon.

           1) Various                                           2) Chair                           3) Saddle Rack                        4) Bridle Rack

 1)      Top left Board was requested to hosted brass plates with each award won.  Horse was hand-painted in owner’s horse’s markings.  The Bit box and tote were ordered in barn colors and a combination of hand-painting and appliqués.

2)
This chair was 100% custom made by The Organized Horse Team.  A custom chair to accommodate a specific height, stained to match barn colors.  Fabrics selected to complement the logo and a vinyl logo on the back of the chair.

 3)      This barn ordered 24 saddle racks.  They loved the blue paisley pattern, but we found a ribbed blue fabric that was very complementary, allowing the saddle racks to be alternated for an attractive look and a nice cost savings over using 100% equestrian upholstery fabric.  The saddle racks are a Organized Horse exclusive.  We built a wood frame, covered by the batting used for outdoor furniture to absorb moisture.  This is the hook and eye version.  We also offer a wall-mounted version.

 4)      This bridle rack is Sherry’s own.  I have bridle brackets for each of my horses, personalized with brass plates and their names.  The middle brass plate on a decorative wood medallion has “Sherry” on it and the hooks below hold my helmet.  Other single hooks are great for spurs, bits and other odds and ends, making it an attractive and functional piece.  This is a 5’ bridle rack.
